At Paramount Medical Center in Dubai, we are committed to delivering world-class dental care with the highest standards of precision, safety, and aesthetics. Our ceramic crowns are a top choice for those who wish to restore their natural smile using the latest in dental technology. Whether it's for function, confidence, or beauty — our goal is to give you teeth that look and feel just like your own.
Ceramic crowns are one of the most effective means for restoring the natural appearance of teeth and their functionality. All-metal prostheses allow you to accurately copy the color, texture of natural enamel and can serve up to 7 years.
A ceramic dental crown is used in the following cases:
with significant tooth decay;
the presence of visible defects;
with disproportionate size, irregular shape or position of the tooth;
in the presence of allergic reactions to crowns made of other materials.
Metal-free ceramics are installed on anterior and chewing teeth, implants. Ceramic crowns for anterior teeth are all-ceramic constructions that allow you to very accurately select a shade that is identical to a natural one and do not look different from natural teeth. Ceramic crowns for chewing teeth are made of pressed ceramics, which provides the necessary margin of safety and has high wear resistance.
Installation of metal-free prostheses is not performed in the following cases:
caries and restorations in need of replacement;
bite anomalies;
short crown;
inflammation of the gums;
The main advantages of metal-free ceramics:
the color of the crowns does not change during the entire service life;
ceramics cannot be distinguished from natural teeth;
the tooth is reliably protected from external adverse influences;
high strength characteristics of the material allow using crowns to protect molars;
there are no allergic reactions to the material, irritation (inflammation) of soft tissues, there is no negative effect on the digestive tract;
the service life of a ceramic crown is 5–7 years;
the material is lightweight, comfortable, so the patient quickly gets used to the installed crown;
for the installation of ceramic crowns, minimal tooth turning is required.
Metal-free all-ceramic crowns are one of the most aesthetic solutions for eliminating various dental problems. The technology was developed at the end of the last century and is now actively developing. Not only crowns are made of ceramics, but also veneers, onlays, bridges, inlays.
The impetus for the development of new technology was the desire to create new teeth that will not differ in any way from natural ones, which is especially important in the smile zone. The metal ceramics used before did not always solve this problem at the proper level.
When creating ceramic crowns, aluminum oxide and porcelain can be used. They can be divided into all-ceramic (porcelain) and ceramic-veneered crowns (frame made of zirconium). They are made by casting, pressing under pressure with layer-by-layer application of a ceramic mass, computer modeling and milling (CAD / CAM technology).
Externally, ceramic crowns do not differ from natural teeth. They do not create glare, since ceramics are able to refract light in the same way as natural enamel. Modern technologies make it possible to produce dentures with the same shades as natural teeth.
The main stages of the process of installing crowns:
Preparation for treatment – The dentist examines the oral cavity, eliminates problems that prevent the installation of a crown (caries treatment, removal of tartar, plaque).
Tooth preparation – The doctor grinds the tooth for the installation of the structure.
Creating a mold – At this stage, a digital impression of the jaw is formed, which is transferred to special software.
Making a crown – CAD / CAM technology is used to design a 3D model, which is then sent to the milling equipment.
Installation of the crown – After fabrication, the prosthesis is tried on. If it fits well and causes no discomfort, it is fixed with special cement. Temporary fixation is possible for up to 20 days before permanent cement is applied.
